Max Verstappen won the Sprint race at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, according to official Formula 1 coverage, completing a dominant Saturday at the Marina Bay Street Circuit after also securing Sprint pole position earlier in the day.

Verstappen’s victory in what Formula 1 described as a dramatic Sprint adds to his Sprint pole earlier in the session, giving the Red Bull driver a clean sweep of Saturday’s abbreviated race program in Singapore.

The Sprint Qualifying session, which determined the grid for the shorter race, took place ahead of the Sprint itself, with Verstappen topping both sessions at the tight and unforgiving street circuit.

First practice for the Singapore Grand Prix also ran as part of the weekend’s schedule, giving teams their initial opportunity to gather data ahead of Sunday’s main event. The full qualifying session for the Grand Prix itself is still to come, meaning the Sprint result does not directly determine the grid for the feature race.

Singapore’s Marina Bay circuit is widely regarded as one of the most demanding on the Formula 1 calendar, combining high humidity, a punishing layout of walls and barriers, and one of the longest lap times of the season. A Sprint victory there carries particular significance given the limited margin for error.

The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix weekend continues with qualifying for the main race and Sunday’s feature Grand Prix, where championship points at a higher premium will be on offer.
