Sergio Pérez will mark his 300th Formula 1 Grand Prix start with a public show run along Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City on October 28, an event organised by Cadillac Formula 1 Team and the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix 2026 Presented by Heineken, with support from the Government of Mexico City.
The exhibition, set to begin at 10:00 a.m., will give fans a close-up view of Pérez driving a Formula 1 car along one of the capital’s most recognisable boulevards. The event also marks the first time Cadillac F1 Team — the championship’s 11th entry, which joined the grid for the 2026 season — will appear on Mexican soil.
“Driving down Paseo de la Reforma in front of my home crowd is always an incredible feeling, but doing it with Cadillac F1 Team during our first season together makes it even more special,” Pérez said. “Reaching 300 Grands Prix is a proud milestone in my career, and there’s no better place to start that celebration than back on the streets of Mexico City with the fans who have supported me every step of the way.”
The show run carries additional significance as it marks Pérez’s return to the Mexican Grand Prix after missing the 2025 edition. His 300th start will place him among the most experienced drivers in the history of the championship.
Federico González Compeán, Managing Director of the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix 2026, said the event was designed to extend the reach of Formula 1 beyond the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. “This Show Run is an opportunity to take the excitement of Formula 1 beyond the circuit and bring it closer to thousands of fans at one of Mexico City’s most iconic landmarks,” he said.
Cadillac Team Principal Marcin Budkowski described the occasion as a landmark moment for the American outfit. “Racing in Mexico City for the first time is a hugely proud moment for us, and doing so as Checo marks his 300th Grand Prix start makes it even more significant,” Budkowski said. “The passion of the Mexican fans is legendary, so for Checo to showcase our team on the iconic streets of Paseo de la Reforma before the race weekend even begins is a fantastic opportunity.”
