TGR Haas F1 Team hosted students and staged panel discussions at both its UK and Italian headquarters to mark International Women in Engineering Day, delivering a series of initiatives aimed at inspiring the next generation of women in STEM and motorsport careers.

Students from Silverstone UTC visited the team’s Banbury facility for a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the Formula 1 operation. The visit included a panel discussion featuring Electronics Design Engineer Alice Jennings and Mathematical Modeler Alyssa Gomes, who shared their career journeys and offered advice to aspiring engineers. Jenny Fletcher, Girls on Track Program Manager at Motorsport UK, also participated, providing insight into the program and its members, some of whom now work in the motorsport industry.

“At the heart of a UTC education is engagement with real-world industry, and our visit to TGR Haas F1 Team’s UK headquarters provided a fantastic insight into the inner workings of a Formula 1 team,” said Angela Murphy, Principal at Silverstone UTC. “The message was clear - stay focused, pursue your passion, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. While career paths are rarely linear, each experience plays a vital role in bringing you closer to achieving your ambitions.”

At the team’s Italian headquarters in Maranello, 10 students from Motor Valley University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER) joined female engineering colleagues for a tour of the facility and the nearby Fiorano Circuit. The visit concluded with an informal Q&A session, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences with team members.

Separately, Junior Vehicle Dynamics Engineer Lina Khalil represented the team on a webinar hosted by Driven By Us, sharing her journey into motorsport and offering insight into Formula 1 careers.

“It’s important to promote careers in engineering and recognize the vital contributions women make to the STEM industry, particularly through initiatives like International Women in Engineering Day,” said Caitlin McMillan, ESG Manager at TGR Haas F1 Team. “We’ve been delighted to host students from Silverstone UTC and MUNER across our UK and Italy sites, giving them insight into the wide range of engineering roles within our team. These visits have highlighted the diversity of skills, experiences, and backgrounds of our team members, and demonstrated how accessible and inclusive careers in STEM can be.”

International Women in Engineering Day celebrates the achievements of women in engineering while encouraging young people to pursue careers in STEM fields. The Haas initiative spanned multiple formats — from in-person facility tours and panel discussions to online webinars — reflecting the team’s stated commitment to inclusion, representation, and early talent development across its global operations.
