The Cadillac Formula 1 Team will introduce an upgraded front wing at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, the American squad announced, continuing its development push as it builds on a competitive showing at Silverstone.

Round 10 of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship takes the grid to Spa-Francorchamps, the longest circuit on the calendar at 7.004km and home to the greatest elevation change of any F1 track at 102.2 meters. It will mark the 59th time the Belgian Grand Prix has been held at the storied Ardennes circuit.

Cadillac arrives in Belgium with momentum after both cars completed the full 406km of combined Sprint and Grand Prix racing at Silverstone. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon pointed to the British Grand Prix as a turning point for the rookie operation.

“The British Grand Prix was a very positive weekend for us,” Lowdon said. “Completing the full Grand Prix and Sprint distances at the end of a double-header was another step forward in our development and I want to thank the whole of the team. Most pleasing, however, was that we were able to pull away from the back of the grid and race hard against some of the other teams. We would like more of that this weekend in Belgium.”

Both drivers bring strong Spa pedigree to the weekend. Checo Pérez has contested the Belgian Grand Prix on 14 occasions, starting on the front row three times and finishing on the podium twice. He also claimed the bonus point for fastest lap on his most recent visit in 2024. Valtteri Bottas has 12 starts at Spa with three podium finishes and set the fastest lap in 2018.

Pérez highlighted the unique demands the circuit will place on the 2026 machinery. “After good, competitive performances at Silverstone, we’re ready for Spa, which is a very different challenge from every other circuit on the calendar,” he said. “It is a very high-speed circuit, and unusual in that it has negative-g when you go through the Eau Rouge compression. It is going to be interesting for energy management and ride, plus tire management, so we will make this a focus of our attention on Friday, as well as analyzing the developments we will bring.”

Bottas echoed his teammate’s optimism while stressing the importance of driver confidence at a circuit defined by its high-speed corners. “I felt we were making real progress with both our reliability and our competitive position,” Bottas said. “It’s a circuit where the driver really needs confidence in the car to commit in the fastest corners, and to run the curbs at high-speed. We’ve been doing a huge amount of work at the factory to ensure we turn up this weekend with a good baseline set-up, that will enable us to get the most out of practice and progress from there.”

The forecast for the weekend calls for thunderstorms, rain showers, and outbreaks of sunshine — conditions that could play into the hands of a team looking to punch above its weight. The Cadillac Formula 1 Team, backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, made its F1 debut this season and operates from facilities in Indianapolis, Charlotte, and Silverstone.
