The Cadillac Formula 1 Team will sport a full-color red, white and blue livery at this weekend’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit, marking America’s 250th birthday as the Independence Day holiday falls on Saturday’s Sprint event and Grand Prix qualifying.
The special stars-and-stripes-inspired color scheme will extend across the garage dressing, driver helmets and team kit for Round Nine of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. The livery will also be displayed at the Cadillac Formula 1 Team x Jim Beam Pit Stop BBQ at ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans, one of the largest cultural gatherings in the United States.
“The 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings. “We want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion.”
The American squad heads to Silverstone looking to rebound from a difficult Austrian Grand Prix. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon acknowledged the struggles but expressed confidence in the team’s trajectory. “The Austrian Grand Prix was a challenge for us - but there is not one team in the pitlane that has not had similar days,” Lowdon said. “We have seen that the upgrades brought to Spielberg were positive, and our objective in Silverstone is to ensure that we have a clean weekend to maximize the performance potential we see.”
Driver Valtteri Bottas enters the weekend seeking reliability after three consecutive retirements. “While Austria was a disappointing race, the weekend itself had many positives, with us having moments where we were closer to the midfield than we were to the back of the grid,” Bottas said. The Finn has extensive Silverstone history, with two pole positions and five podium finishes across 14 F1 appearances at the circuit. Teammate Checo Perez, who scored a fastest lap at Silverstone in 2021 and finished second in 2022, said the team needs to focus on building solid foundations. “The team continues to show so much promise and I am encouraged by the flashes of performance we demonstrated in Austria,” Perez said.
Silverstone hosted the inaugural Formula One World Championship round in 1950. The circuit has evolved significantly over 76 years but retains its reputation for extreme speeds, now combined with a lower-speed infield section featuring a tight chicane. The Cadillac Formula 1 Team, which made its F1 debut this season, is backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, with operations in Indianapolis, Charlotte and Silverstone.
