Aston Martin Aramco made its first-ever appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, completing four runs of the famous 1.86km Hillclimb with its AMR25 challenger across the four-day festival at the Goodwood Estate, the team confirmed.
Driver Ambassador and Head of F1 Academy Jessica Hawkins took the wheel first, piloting the AMR25 through two sessions on Saturday. Third Driver Jak Crawford then took over on Sunday, guiding the car up the twisty tarmac that winds through the historic estate in front of thousands of spectators.
“What a fun first weekend as a team at Goodwood Festival of Speed,” Hawkins said. “I kicked things off driving the Honda Prelude and the Super-N up the iconic Hillclimb, which was a great way to begin the weekend. It’s always an incredible feeling driving an F1 car, so thank you to everyone who made that happen at Aston Martin Aramco.”
Hawkins also featured in Honda’s Festival of Speed programme beyond her F1 duties, driving a selection of the team’s technical partner’s most celebrated road cars up the Hill.
Crawford described the experience as a career highlight. “The highlight of the weekend for me was, of course, driving the AMR25 on Sunday,” he said. “It was a super cool experience to drive an F1 car up the famous Hillclimb and something I’ve always wanted to do. Thanks to our Evo team for all the work in the heat over the weekend.”
The team’s presence extended well beyond the Hillclimb itself. A dedicated fan zone offered racing simulators and the latest Aston Martin Aramco merchandise throughout the festival. An exclusive I/AM competition also gave one lucky winner a pair of four-day passes to experience the team’s debut from the heart of the action.
Both drivers emphasized the unique fan engagement the event provided. “Away from the driving, I really enjoyed meeting all the fans throughout the weekend,” Hawkins said. “Goodwood has such a great atmosphere and is truly a real celebration of motorsport and automotive culture.” Crawford echoed the sentiment, noting it was “great to see so many in green across the festival, in a way we can’t always do over a normal race weekend.”
